The midnight callers

Some people call it 'power pop', 'pop rock', or 'alt rock’ but whatever it is, it's what has been flowing in their veins since they can remember. Growing up in the suburbs of Boston and moving to NYC in 2012, Chris spent two years in the mod rock scene where he met drummer and collaborator, Julien Budrino.

Together, they recruited Anthony Bernier and Martin Stubbs which resulted in a unique blend of all of their musical backgrounds into what can only be labeled as 'pure rock n' roll'. With a solidified sound, they fell upon the moniker 'The Midnight Callers' which hearkens back to the bygone era of music and New York City they love most.

WHAT PEOPLE SAY

Chris Paine & The Lettertrain - Indiscriminate Chatter

Chris Paine & The Lettertrain is a driven rock band with a sound that blurs the lines between the edgy energy of alternative rock and the timelessness of Americana. The group music has often been compared to the work of influential artists the likes of Tom Petty, Ryan Adams or Neil Young, but their attitude and personality is particularly unique. At the very core of this project lies a blend of pure and unadulterated rock and roll! Chris Paine & The Lettertrain sound like a well-tested war machine, as every element strikes perfectly in the right place. To make things more interesting, each of the band members is actually based in different locations scattered throughout the world - from Canada, to France and the United States.

The group's new EP, "Indiscriminate Chatter", feels powerful and direct, with shades of alternative rock. The melodies go hand in hand with the energetic guitar grooves, echoing the grit and warmth of the hottest 70s rock, but retaining a more modern feel.
